做学生是最幸福的事——终身学习的PYP教师

苏城外国语学校秉承“教育为一生奠基”的教育使命,坚信学习与成长永无止尽。作为一所IB候选学校,我们为每一位教师提供职业发展的机会。  帮助他们实践IB理论,并为学生树立终身学习者的榜样。 

Adhered to the Mission Statement “Education for life”, Soochow Foreign Language School firmly believes that learning and growth never ends. As an IB candidate school, we provide every teacher with the opportunity of professional development, help them practice IB philosophy, and set an example of lifelong learners for students.



近日,幼儿园和小学部共6名教师,前往上海西华外籍人员子女学校进行为期三天的IB华东区域培训

During the National Day, six teachers from kindergarten and primary school went to The Western International School of Shanghai (WISS) for the three-day IB East China regional workshops. 



小学部老师参加了“概念驱动”和“成果展”两个主题的培训。

Primary school teachers participated in the two workshops—"Concept Driven" and "Your Exhibition". 



带着沉甸甸的收获,老师们归纳总结、浓缩精华,利用周末时间与全体小学部教师分享学习成果。

With a fruitful harvest, they summed up the essence, and spent the weekend to share their learning with all primary school teachers.





众所周知,教学讲究因材施教,因此我们的校内培训官们也是做了大量的精心准备,培训开始之前,就将我们这群“学生”进行了有效的分层、分组教学。

As we all know, differentiation teaching is the key. Before we started, our workshop leaders grouped the teachers based on their experience and knowing to meet different needs.



在PYP入门培训的课堂上,培训官们让新老师用韦恩图对比IB和学校的办学使命,文字配对去理解十大培养者目标,绘本归类以读懂六大超学科主题,分组阅读来快速汇集学习方法……

In the classroom of PYP induction, the workshop leaders use various strategies to help the new teachers understand the key elements of IB and PYP in just half a day, like using Venn diagram to compare IB and the school's mission statement, text matching to understand the IB learner profile, picture books classification to know the six transdisciplinary themes, group reading to collect the approaches to learning, and etc.



在概念驱动的课堂上,这群“学生”可不好“忽悠”。教师们期待着培训官能够帮助他们解决“概念”这个“老大难”问题。

In the Concept Driven class, these "students" were not easy to  "fool". They’re teachers with more than one year of PYP experience and were looking forward to solving the "big problem" of "concept" with the help of the workshop leaders. 



IB教学法强调教学要对概念进行探索,从而加深对学科的理解,帮助学生建立各种联系并做到学以致用。培训官就什么是概念?为什么要概念驱动?如何实现概念驱动?层层深入、一一解决老师们曾经的困惑。

The Approaches to Teaching in IB believes concepts are explored in order to both deepen disciplinary understanding and to help students make connections and transfer learning to new contexts. The workshop leaders guided the teachers and explored "What is concept?" "Why do we need to adopt concept driven teaching?" and "How to realize it?" in depth.



我们才华横溢的“学生们”也不负众望,分别用一种物品,一幅画等形式来展现他们的理解。

Our talented "students" also lived up to the expectations and showed their understandings in the forms of goods and drawings.



虽然培训侧重点不同,但每个课堂都以各种活动贯穿,思考、合作、讨论、反思、分享等是课堂的主旋律。

Although the focus of training is different, each class was run through with various activities. Thinking, collaboration, discussion, reflection and sharing are the main themes of the workshops.




学术报告厅中,老师们再一次上演身份互换。在小学部陈安琪老师的UOI展示课《生活中的职业》上,二十位老师扮演二年级的学生,以全新的视角来体验探究课堂。

20 teachers played the role of Year Two students and experienced a UOI lesson by Angel Chen.



一个小时的观摩课结束了,大家都迎来了“Aha Moment”,角色互换的学习,让老师们感受到作为一名“学生”,在真实的探究课堂上如何开展思考和学习。

After the demo class, everyone embraced their  "Aha Moment". They realized, recognized or understood what a real inquiry class could look like, sound like and feel like.




各年级组进行了UOI协作备课,全员参与,集思广益,老师们共同设计教案,交流当前授课中的经验,分享学生课堂上的案例,探讨改善提高方案。

Each Year group carried out UOI collaborative planning. Everyone participated in the brainstorming, lesson planning, and sharing experience on how to improve and apply their knowledge into practice.



最喜欢参加这样的工作坊,学习是最快乐的事,做学生是最幸福的事,送给辛苦准备,分享,授课的老师们。虽然是周末,但是有这么多的干货,值了!

对于一个刚接触IB教育的新人来说,UOI课都讲些什么?如何设计教学?怎样实施教学?这些问题一直困扰着我。这次的培训课给了我诸多启发,让我对UOI课的教学又有了新的认识。以“学生”的视角再来体会UOI课堂,这种换位思考,更让人感受到国际教育视角的独特性,全面性和发展性。


这次的培训不仅高屋建瓴,让我们加深了对IB的理解,而且与时俱进,学习了最新的文件,将教育理念与教学实际融合在一起。激发了我进一步学习的兴趣,为以后的教学提供了新的思路!

 


在这个瞬息万变的时代,只有保持终身学习的能力,才能跟上时代的步伐!

In this rapidly changing era, only by maintaining the ability of lifelong learning, we can keep up with the pace of the time!


作为苏城外的老师,我们每一个人将践行IB使命,以IB的培养者目标不断要求自己、充实自己,做积极进取的终身学习者,在教学中展现更加优秀、更加专业的一面!

As teachers of Soochow Foreign Language School, we will practice the IB mission statement and try our best to meet ourselves to the IB expectation.
